Alpine Sedge
A tufted perennial with sharply 3 sided stems and leaves 3-5mm wide. The dark flowers are atop the stem in 2-4 unstalked egg shaped spikes. The lower spike is the male.

Quite usual in moist, grassy, stony mountain habitats.
