St.1 Hjelle to Vetti Farm to Skogadalsbøen Lodge
8 hours / 22km
1270m / 540m
Gravel track for 4 km then a well marked but steep track to Ingjerdbu cabin. From Ingjerdbu there is a well marked path to Skogadalsbøen lodge

Follow the gravel track along the bottom of the gorge-like Utledalen valley crossing 4 bridges over the raging torrent for 5 km until you come to the clearing of Vetti Farm. Follow the track up to the farm where just beyond it is a junction With a path Hu.14 disappears down through the forest to the River Utla and the foot of Vetissfossen, and a path which now starts to climb very steeply up a forested spur for an hour to climb out of the huge gorge of Utledalen. Once this 300m has been ascended and your are on the lip of the gorge the path divides. Take the left (west) fork and after 300 you cross the Morka-Koldøla river on a bridge just before it plunges over Vettisfossen. Beyond the bridge is a marvellous viewpoint of this magnificent sight. From the falls it is another km to Ingjerbu cabin After Injerdbu cabin the path climbs slightly, crossing some damp areas for ½hour to reach the bridge of the Fleskedøla River. After the river the path climbs for another ½hour to reach the edge of the forest. Continue beside the river for a km until you get to the cabins on the other side. Then start a sustained climb up an open ridge to for a short hour to gain the higher slopes of Friken. From here there are unparallel views west across Utledalen Valley to the wildest scenery in Hurrungane. The path now starts a deceptively long traverse down the side of Friken for an good hour to reach the bridge over the large Urdadøla river. Cross the bridge into a lush forest and slowly climb up a glade for a km to reach a wooded saddle. From this saddle it is a short descent to the bridge over the Skogadøla River and the charming Skogadalsbøen lodge just beyond.
