An obvious path leads 1km east across the summit plateau. After the east top at 1990m the path splits, with a route going north east down the side on the south ridge and then across the glacier to Sognefjellshytta (Hu.3), and a path continuing south.
Take the southern path and descend steeply down scree for an hour, descending to a saddle near a waterfall and then skirting across the mountainside until you reach the Kaiser pass. Here route Hu.4 is met and is then followed to Skogadalsbøen lodge.
