From Turtagrø walk up the gravel track for 4km until the fifth hairpin bend. Here the path leaves the road, heading up 300m to Ekrehytta. Here the path splits with the lower branch (Hu.4) going to Skogadalsbøen lodge and the upper going up Fannaråken.
Take the upper path for three hours to reach the Fannaråken cabin. This path is steep in places, and although well marked is stony. It is not marked in winter/spring. For a full description see the preferred ascent description of Fannaråken.
