Woodcock
A more seldom summer visitor which is found in damp, mature deciduous woodlands in the valleys around the mountains.

They nest in a simple hollow at the base of a tree among dry leaves. They subsist off earthworms and insects, but also some seeds.

They are seldom seen as they are predominantly nocturnal. They are usually solitary. The sexes are similar.
