Charadrius hiaticula, Ringed Plover, Sandlo. 18cm.
A common visitor to the moorland zone where it is seen along lake shores and mountain streams.
The nest is a rudimentary scrape in shingle with little lining. It eats insects and their larvae.
Outside the breeding season they are somewhat gregarious. The male and female are alike.
