Fondsbu Lodge was initially built in 1932 as a annexe to the glamorous Eidsbugården Hotel. In 1993 it was refurbished and opened under the ownership of the DNT.

It is another of their flagships and is the main gate to southern Jotunheimen in both the summer walking season and the spring ski-touring season.

It has about 100 beds in a variety of rooms from 2 person-rooms to a dormitory. It has all the practical comforts one would expect like drying rooms. Recently it has built up a reputation for quality traditional food from local suppliers.

The lodge is usually open from mid February to early May for the ski season and from late June to early October for walking season. The prices are the DNT standard prices.

During the winter season there is a transport service using vintage and characterful 'weasel' snow tractors from 1950. In the summer there is a good gravel road from Tyinkrysset so 25 km to the south.

They have a website, but without an English link. It is www.fondsbu.no. For further information Tel: +47 97 07 42 18 or email to post@fondsbu.no.
